A Community pharmacy is a pharmacy that deals directly with people in the local area.It is a community based pharmacy.It has responsibilities including compounding,counseling,checking and dispensing of prescription drugs to the patients with care,accuracy and legality.It involves a registered pharmacist when open.

 A hospital pharmacy is concerned with pharmacy service to all types of hospital.Hospital pharmacies can usually be found within the premises of hospital.They provide medications for the hospitalized patients only,and not retail establishments.

                                                 Clinical Pharmacy

Clinical pharmacy is the branch of pharmacy where pharmacists provide patient care that optimizes the use of medication and promotes health,wellness and disease prevention.In most hospitals,potentially dangerous drugs that require close monitoring are dosed and managed by clinical pharmacist.

Concept of Pharmacy

What is pharmacy?

The word "pharmacy"is derived from the Greek word(pharmakon),meaning "drug" or "medicines".
Pharmacy is art and science of preparing and dispensing medicines,It is the health profession that links the health sciences with the chemical sciences and it is charged with ensuring the safe and effecting use of pharmaceutical drugs.

History of pharmacy

The openings of the first drugstores are recorded by Muslim pharmacists in Baghdad in 754.Aesclapius is known as father of medicines.The bowl of Hygieia has been used as symbol of the pharmacy at least as far back as 1796.Hygieia was the Greek goddess of hygiene(Health).
